Hello Everyone-
I am just getting use to the BLOGGING world. We are suppose to describe our initial reaction to the creation of the BLOG and how it might be used for the delivery of an online course.
Well, my first thoughts were that I like the idea of the BLOG, but because it is new to me, I felt a bit awkward in using it. I like the opportunities for sharing into that the BLOG offers and I think it might be useful for an online course in allowing students to work in teams to complete projects and tasks. It is a great way for people to share ideas and interests in visual and text forms as well as sharing links to a multitude of resources. I think once I have more experience in using it, I will really be able to realize the full benefits.
Oh and one more thought spring is just around the corner - Wahoo!

Hi Deb,
I like the layout of your blog a lot better than mine. I may change my layout after looking at yours. I agree that blogging could be a great way for people to share ideas and interests. Spring is just around the corner, hopefully after here in Ohio we just went through a blizzard.
Have a great week!

Hi Don-
Thanks for the positive comments on my BLOG. I feel like I have no idea of what I am doing with the BLOG and I needed a boost of confidence - so thanks for the nice response. You did have quite a bit of snow lately. I will be in Ohio again in April. I hope the snow is gone by then!

Hi Deb,
I know that I learn a lot from the blogs of fellow Ed Tech leaders but as for the blog I created a while back, I have yet to teach or learn anything from! I need to make changes and try to get more, who am I kidding, any interaction with it! It is aimed at my students, but few actually have the Internet at home.
You're off to a great start!
Rose Ann
Hi Rose Ann-
Thanks for helping me to feel better about my current BLOGing skills. I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I don't know that BLOGs will work for me as an educational tool because my school has blocked any and all blogging acitivity. How does that sound for incorporating new technology! I have to wait until I get home to log on for this course assignment. Also, like you mentioned, many students do not have internet at home and can't access the BLOG from there. Lack of access at school is frustrating to me.
Thanks for the chat today...
Deb
Deb - That's such a shame that blogs are blocked in your school! Is there anyway to talk with the tech person and get something added?
Hi Liz-
I wish there was some way to get the admin to unblock the blogging capabilities at my school. unfortunately the administration, manily the principal is the real problem on this issue. If the admin is not aware of technology benefits, then it is hard to get them to buy into the benefits. I hope that things will change next year when some administrators are due to retire and others will be shifted around.
Have you experienced any resistance such as this where you work?
Thanks for responding to my blog.
Deb
